What are your delivery Timeframes?
We endeavour to deliver within a timeframe of three working days; however, we are reliant on postal services, and as you know, this is not always possible.

Where is Trekboer Traditional South African Biltong UK-based?
We are based in the North East of England, on the edge of Northumberland, close to the Scottish Borders. We retain our South African Heritage, preferring to live close to nature, walking on the farms across the road, fishing along the coast, and hunting in the wilds of Scotland.
Where do you source your Biltong Meat?
Beef - Our beef is locally sourced, using only British Beef. We have high standards and enjoy a healthy relationship with our suppliers.
Venison - Our venison is free-roaming, ethically and sustainably sourced through deer stalkers up in the wilds of Scotland; we do not use farmed venison. We accompany deer stalkers and ensure standards from field to table.
Where do you source your Biltong Ingredients?
We use South Africa's leading brand of biltong spice/seasoning to produce a fully food-safe biltong, as well as our proprietary blend of herbs and spices, a family recipe used for generations, ensuring that the biltong taste sensation we all love!
What is the secret sauce, the Colonel's eleven secret herbs and spices?
Unfortunately, if I told you, it wouldn't be a secret then, would it?
How best to store Biltong?
That's a good question! With most South Africans, it's consumed within a day or two of getting hold of some biltong! We recommend consuming within three days of opening. Store in a cool, dry place. For longer storage, freezing is an option, allow to thaw in the fridge, and consume within 3 days. Traditionally, most South Africans recommend storing in a plain brown paper bag.
